Prepolymers Designed for Adhesives, Coatings & Elastomers
USPA aromatic isocyanate prepolymers are engineered for performance-driven applications where mechanical strength, flexibility and chemical resistance are key. Their role as Component B allows formulators to fine-tune properties by selecting compatible polyol systems. Common application areas include:
- Structural and industrial adhesives
- Protective coatings for metal and plastics
- High-flexibility elastomer systems
- Moisture-cure (1K) coatings requiring elevated durability or resistance
- Crosslinkers designed for two-component polyurethane systems for industrial use
Key Benefits of USPA Isocyanate Prepolymers
- Designed for compatibility with polyester polyols
- Stable isocyanate content for controlled reactivity
- Strong performance in 2K adhesive and coating systems
- Effective in both rigid and flexible polyurethane formulations
- Ideal for industrial and specialty material applications
100% Solids Polyurethane Coatings
Soft, plasticizing and non-migrating Polyurethane resins. Fully soluble in alcohol and exhibit excellent heat, oil, fat, grease and moisture resistance while promoting solvent release in nitrocellulose-based surface print applications.

USPA’s Prepolymer Formulating Capabilities
USPA has extensive capabilities in prepolymer formulation. We produce NCO-terminated prepolymers with free NCO levels up to 13%, and potentially higher upon discussion. Both aromatic and aliphatic isocyanates can be used, including MDI, IPDI, and HDI types.
USPA formulates using polyether or polyester polyols such as PPG, PEG, PTMEG, and PCAPG. Various chemical modifications are available, including acrylic, silane, and phenolic modifications. We can also produce silane/siloxane-terminated and amine-terminated prepolymers.
Chain extenders include both aliphatic and aromatic diamines, as well as Jeffamines. Hydroxy-terminated systems can also be developed.
Custom Prepolymer Development
Need a tailored formulation? US Polymers-Accurez partners with formulators to develop custom prepolymers with specific NCO content, viscosity and performance characteristics. Whether you're designing a structural adhesive, elastomer or industrial coating, our team will help select and adapt the right isocyanate system for your needs.
